Interest in and emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education has never been greater. From President Obama’s recent calls for improved K-12 STEM education to increased emphasis on funded projects by agencies such as the National Science Foundation, STEM education is taking center stage in our state, region, nation, and entire world.
Faculty with expertise and interest in STEM education in five different Colleges and four different campuses of Washington State University have been collaborating on an idea to increase synergy, visibility, and support for work in this area. To this end, these faculty have forged an emerging STEM Education Partnership at WSU.
The mission of the WSU STEM Education Partnership is to support and disseminate research on teaching and learning in STEM fields and to support and provide professional activity that will inform and guide continued excellence in STEM Education at WSU, the state, and beyond.
